Our client was a $500m AuM Institutional Asset Manager with a breadth of investment strategies within the Illiquid Credit space. Whilst historically, these strategies had been managed disperately, growing client demand for integrated solutions in this sub sector meant the firm took the decision to bring together these various components into one division. Traditionally, firms use their existing generalist salesforce to take such strategies to market. However, our client recognised the need for specialist sales leadership experience to ensure coverage was effective, focussed and delivery oriented.
They asked us to partner with them to identify top sales talent within this space. Our search strategy was Pan European in focus, recognising the strength of talent pools in Paris, Frankfurt and Benelux. We sought sales leadership talent within competitor firms, Private Debt boutiques and Investment Consulting all of whom had the technical competence to articulate the Private Debt strategies to hand as well as the energy, focus and rolodex to take these strategies to market.
We successfully introduced 5 profiles to the client, a mix of UK and European based candidates and are now working with the appointed individual to build a pan European coverage team.
