Our client is a significant Insurance group with a strong UK Life & Pensions business. Its ambitions for the growth of this area remain high and it saw a weakness in its core UK Retail offering which through new leadership felt could be significantly enhanced. The product mix of the business was Protection, Savings and Investments and it was seeking an outstanding business leader to drive the growth of all three product sets. In addition, they also sought to enhance their platform offering which had the potential to deliver real value to customers.
A key requirement was culture fit and as such we put together an assessment template in conjunction with the client against which to test the relevant candidates. This was based on both qualitative and quantative criteria to ensure that the client was aware of the fit of each person.
We were asked to source talent in the UK investment, platform and protection talent pools. Having mapped the relevant markets, we conducted a vigorous, fast paced qualification process that led to shortlists covering each of the 3 product sets by experience and where possible candidates that had blended experience of all. We then overlayed the candidate shortlist with our assessment template to ensure consistency of culture fit and value set of the relevant candidates.
The process was completed within 2 months and subsequently we continued to support the build out of this team with further hires into it.
