Building a Global Wealth Fundraising Capability

Our client is one of the world’s leading Private Markets investment firms with c $500bn AuM. AMC was asked to support the build out of their Global Wealth Fundraising efforts.

The firm had relied on Institutional clients for the growth of its Real Assets, Energy Transition, Private Credit and other long dated investment strategies. And with huge success. Interested in understanding the nature of Wealth pools of capital, they asked AMC to undertake a competitor analysis to determine the opportunity in this channel.

Once this process was completed and the project delivered, we were asked to lead the search to hire a Head of Global Wealth, leading the build out of the distribution structure of an international Wealth fundraising capability. The first hire a w London based leader of this endeavour. Following that, we will look to build product structuring and client service capabilities.

AMC’s search process involved Asset Allocators, Global Wholesale Investment Managers, Private Banks, Private Markets firms. The competencies sought included a relevant rolodex, international wealth sales leadership, franchise building competence and relevant product understanding.

The search process covered individuals in the UK, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Germany.
