The Mandate

A global asset manager building its private assets franchise across Asia Pacific required a senior leader to drive distribution. With real estate and private credit as initial priorities, the firm needed to position its alternatives platform to institutional and wholesale clients across the region.

The Challenge

A regional leadership role requiring a rare combination of:

  • Deep private markets distribution expertise across real estate and private credit

  • Established relationships with institutional and wholesale clients across APAC

  • Ability to operate across multiple markets (Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia)

  • Senior credibility to engage both investment teams and leading allocators

The role sits at a highly constrained intersection — private markets expertise, regional client coverage and leadership experience — within one of the most competitive hiring markets in Asia Pacific.

The candidate also needed to be genuinely bilingual in institutional and wholesale client management — a rare combination in APAC markets.
